Shopping In Florence

Happy Italian Independence Day!

The title of this blog basically explains my day today.  However, before we went shopping we visited the Duomo of Florence (Cathedral of Florence).  It was another spectacular church to add to my list of churches I have seen in Europe.

The shopping in Florence is just incredible.  Every single street is filled with shops.  All of the shops are so unique!  There are things here that you definitely won't find in the USA.  I got a mosaic necklace pendant, a hand-painted box, and a shirt.  Also, since today was Italian Independence Day, all of the streets were decorated with Italian flags and, in addition, many of the shop windows were decorated in green, white, and red.

As for food for today, I had my first piece of Italian made pizza.  It was soo good!!  For dinner, I had a plate of spaghetti which was also delicious!  For dessert, I had a waffle with nutella and vanilla gelato on it.  I'm starting to find out that mostly all of the food here is just completely amazing!!!

Tomorrow, we have a 12 hour tour of Tuscany!  It's going to be a very long day!!  I'll update tomorrow, I'm sure I'll have a lot to write about!  Ciao!!
